24kV Ring Main Unit for Distribution Projects

24kV RMU project review with a 630 A main-busbar reference. Confirm function units, transformer protection, insulation, cable accessories and DTU scope with JCON ELEC.

Mianyang manufacturing workshop reference, not a 24kV RMU product photograph
Manufacturing-capability reference, not a 24kV sealed RMU product photograph. Request matching photographs and drawings of the offered equipment during technical review.

Scope of supply

24kV RMU proposals are built from the required ring-network ways, transformer feeders, protection and automation interfaces. Main-busbar current, individual feeder ratings, insulation technology and expansion provisions must be checked separately.

Price and lead time follow the confirmed drawings, component brands and supply scope. The quotation must state packing, freight, destination, Incoterms and any site-service exclusions.

Technical reference

24kV RMU: reference ratings and configuration scope

Reference voltage: 24 kV; current: 630 A; short-time withstand: 20 kA (3 s).

Rated voltage24 kV
Main busbar current630 A
Short-time withstand current20 kA (3 s)
Degree of protectionCabinet IP4X; sealed gas tank IP67
Referenced standardsGB/T 3906-2020; GB/T 11022; GB/T 3804
Configuration basisThese are reference ranges, not a single guaranteed configuration. Ratings and IP options cannot be combined freely. Final values require approved project drawings and matching verification documents.

Configuration routes

These are RFQ routes, not pre-engineered packages. Confirm the actual ratings, brands and verification basis before ordering.

ApplicationConfiguration to reviewBuyer inputs
Ring incoming and outgoing waysRequest this configurationReview ring-network switching ways and the required isolation/earthing arrangement against the SLD.Number of ways, current for each way, fault duty, cable entry and fixed/extendable requirement.
Transformer feeder protectionRequest this configurationReview fuse-switch or circuit-breaker protection as a project-specific choice, not a price-only substitution.Transformer data, protection philosophy, relay and CT/PT needs, control power and cable terminations.
Automation and insulation optionsRequest this configurationDTU/remote interfaces and SF6 or alternative-gas insulation are separately reviewed options, not default inclusions.Required signals/controls, protocol, auxiliary supply, insulation restrictions and configuration-specific verification evidence.

Documents and acceptance scope

Agree document deliverables and checks against the offered assembly. A company certificate or standards reference does not verify every configuration.

For quotationSLD, functional-way schedule, busbar and feeder ratings, insulation requirements, site conditions and destination specification.
For design approvalFunctional arrangement, protection and control-power scheme, cable interfaces, enclosure details and agreed DTU signals.
For acceptanceMatching equipment photographs, confirmed ratings, applicable verification documents and agreed routine inspection records for the offered insulation and assembly.
FAQ

Buyer questions

Does a 630 A main busbar mean every way is rated 630 A?No. The main-busbar reference and each feeder's rating must be stated separately. A transformer feeder, switching way and protection arrangement are selected from the project requirements.
Is an SF6-free insulation option included as standard? No. The proposed insulation medium, equipment design and verification documents must be confirmed for the actual offer. Do not assume that different gas options have identical ratings or dimensions.
Does an IP67 gas tank make the complete cabinet IP67?No. The source data separates cabinet IP4X from sealed gas tank IP67. Outdoor installation, enclosure exposure and site conditions require their own review.
Are DTU and future extension included automatically? No. Define remote signals, controls, communication, auxiliary power and fixed/extendable arrangement in the RFQ, and identify the accepted scope in the quotation.
