Switchgear Technical and Commercial Proposal Checklist

Check technical compliance, drawings, BOM, evidence, itemized prices, exclusions and delivery terms together before treating a switchgear offer as complete.

Prepared by: JCON ELECUpdated:

Short answer

A complete proposal connects the technical compliance list with the priced equipment schedule. Check drawings, ratings, component brands, evidence, deviations, itemized prices, documents and delivery boundaries as one package. Separate budget assumptions from approved configuration and final handover records.

Use one revision-controlled proposal index

Ask the supplier to identify the customer files and revisions used. Each quoted item should link to its technical data, required brand and any exclusion or deviation.

  • Keep the original customer specification as the baseline.
  • List substitutions and cost-saving options separately for approval.
  • Identify which documents are preliminary and which are committed deliverables.

Frequently asked questions

Does a price sheet alone constitute a complete proposal? Not when the customer requires a technical package. Compare the price sheet with compliance, drawings, components, evidence and exclusions.
Should all handover records exist at the budget stage? No. Distinguish existing evidence and preliminary documents from project-specific records to be produced during manufacturing and handover.
How should cost-saving alternatives be presented?Price them separately, identify every departure from the base requirement and obtain approval before replacing mandatory items.
